Moringa powder & nutrients:
Moringa powder is rich with powerful nutrients and is easy to
store and use. There are endless ways to include Moringa powder into
your daily diet in order to reap its nutritional and health benefits.
The Moringa tree is gaining popularity as a “miracle tree” and possesses
an array of benefits a user can derive from its nutritional leaves,
flowers and seeds as well as the roots and bark that are resistant to
drought.
Processing of
the leaves into Moringa powder involves drying the leaves into a powder
form and then sprinkling the powder on the food of choice for an
immediate nutritional boost. In South and Central Asia, India and the
Middle East Moringa powder is also added to feed for livestock, biofuel
medicine, and as an agent to purify water and fertilize soil among other
things.
In the mid-1990s the U.S. Peace Corps began a campaign to promote the
use of Moringa powder due to nutritional issues in all of West Africa.
While the campaign has been beneficial in some of the African nations,
it has lagged behind in others such as Benin. This compares unfavorably
to Niger which produces Moringa as a cash crop and Senegal which began
using Moringa to treat HIV/AIDS in the late 1990s.
